Case Studies

Our case studies highlight how we work: understanding the problem, aligning on priorities, iterating quickly, and measuring what matters. Each story breaks down the context, our problem or goal, the approach, the solutions and the outcomes, so you can see exactly how Swift TG Solutions have been helping business reach their full potential.

Flow Induced Vibration Study

FEA Analysis

The client was experiencing loud vibrations in piping and structure, both upstream and downstream of two large control valves. The valves appeared to be causing the vibrations when partially open, and we were asked to perform modal analysis and harmonic response simulations to determine the structure’s natural frequencies and corresponding modal shapes to identify and eliminate vulnerabilities.

Glycol Contactor

CFD & FEA Design Verification

A design verification was required for a glycol contactor comprising mist elimination equipment and high capacity structured packing with very strict limits on glycol losses. Verification was required for 11 normal operating cases and two reverse flow cases. For the reverse flow cases we were requested to evaluate the structural integrity of the internals.

Heat Exchanger

CFD and FEA Study

A bespoke inline heat‑exchanger was required with tight limits on gas‑side pressure drop and heat‑transfer performance. Installed downstream of gas compressors in a low‑pressure compression train, any incremental pressure loss would directly affect compressor sizing and operating cost.

Horizontal Vessel (Multiphase)

CFD Analysis

Swift TG Solutions has decades of experience in CFD analysis for the Oil & Gas industry, analysing Horizontal Vessels and have yet to come across any geometry that cannot be modelled. Our CFD studies have led to fewer client shutdowns, cleaner export and higher throughout with the minimum hardware changes required.

Isovolta Airpreg

Tensile & Sheer Material Properties

To determine the tensile and shear properties of supplied material specimens. The properties to be determined are Young’s Modulus, Shear Modulus of Elasticity (1-2 direction only), Poisson’s Ratio, Ultimate Tensile Strength and Ultimate Shear Strength.

Outdoor Skid Frame

FEA Analysis

A bespoke skid structure as part of a process plant was required, supporting a large water tank, two evaporative coolers, and pumps in combination with piping and instrumentation to be placed outdoors and so be able to withstand high wind conditions.

Aircraft Study

Reverse Engineering

A high‑fidelity, as‑built 3D baseline was required to support potential modifications to a two‑seat, side‑by‑side aerobatic training aircraft. Legacy drawings were not available, and the aim was to capture complex free‑form surfaces, structural hard points and interface geometries to de‑risk concept studies and subsequent certification work.

Turbine Enclosure Study

CFD & FEA Analysis and Manufacture

The turbine package was experiencing high enclosure temperatures and trips at 88 °C, constraining production, especially during warmer ambient conditions. Initial evidence pointed to poor distribution of cooling air, limited interaction with the hottest casing regions, and pressure losses through exhaust ducting.

Fire Engineering CFD

5-Storey Residential Fire & Smoke

A high‑fidelity, as‑built 3D baseline was required to support potential modifications to a two‑seat, side‑by‑side aerobatic training aircraft. Legacy drawings were not available, and the aim was to capture complex free‑form surfaces, structural hard points and interface geometries to de‑risk concept studies and subsequent certification work.
