Materials Testing with
Instron
Swift TG Solutions provides material testing to qualify the best options for a product by predicting and optimising a product’s performance. This will improve and accelerate the manufacturing process.
We can test both metallic and composite materials to determine their suitability for specific applications, ensure they meet quality standards and identify potential defects by compression, hardness, impact and fatigue tests.
Materials testing is vital across various sectors including aerospace, automotive, marine, construction and medical. These industries have standards and regulations that materials must meet, and testing is a crucial part of compliance. Material testing can also lead to cost savings by preventing material failures, improving product quality, and enabling innovation.
By conducting thorough material testing, engineers and manufacturers can make informed decisions about material selection, design, and production, ultimately leading to safer, more reliable, and higher-performing products
The testing is undertaken with a NADCAP compliant Instron 5985 250kN Test System complete with hydraulic grips and an integral environment chamber. It has the ability to mechanically test materials, including but not limited to, composites and metals between -80°C to +350°C. The test methods available for this are ASTM D2344, ASTM D3039, ASTM D5379, ASTM D5656, ASTM D5766, ASTM D5868, ASTM D5961, ASTM D6484, ASTM D6641 and ASTM D7078. .
